Anyone here tried Yoga...what do you think of it? Does it calm you? Does it make you feel stronger (both mentally and physically?)

I'm tempted to try it...I have alot of stress at work and I'm in need a good way to get rid of it...also I need to tone up bigtime...I've gained a bit of weight and I'm frustrated with myself for that but the more I try to lose it the way of the gym sometimes the more I get frustrated with myself...it sounds crazy but I'm thinking of trying yoga to branch out and try something different so I'm just curious to know what others might have thought about it...

Healthy Dining Finder - a new website about dining out and how to find healthy foods

This was shown on my local morning show today so I thought I would share it with everyone...they said that it's slowly collecting data though so there aren't a ton of places to eat yet...keep checking back! :)

This might sound a bit crazy to some but I swore at one time I read that you burn more calories in really hot weather and really cold weather...does anyone know if that is true?

The reason I'm asking is yesterday I biked 36 miles and the temp was 100 degrees F...didn't realize that until I saw the news that night...It took me 3 hours to do and it felt great...Biking is my way to destress and to get some exercise...I'm just trying to figure out about how many calories I burned...I figured it out according to different websites but I'm wondering if the heat changes that.

Hi, I just joined. I've managed to lose 50 lbs since New Year's but I'm starting to falter and I'm trying to re-ignite my motivation. I lost 35 lbs in the first 3 months of 2006 but only 15 in the second 3 months. I've been going to the gym fairly regularly and eating healthy most of thwe time, but just too many splurges going on for me to see real results these days. I'm afraid I'm going to backslide and I'm trying to cathc myself before I slip too far.

For how many of you is loneliness your food trigger? I have realized completely today when my husband had to leave for his training again how lonely I felt and just how badly I started eating! :( It wasn't a pretty night for me...

Just a bit of background information on why me and my husband are apart at this timeCollapse )

Excellent food and exercise tracking site - with free trial. [Jun. 16th, 2006|11:22 am]

Fabulous new diet site find!

I mentioned here a couple of weeks ago that I had been using sparkpeople.com for food tracking - it worked for me, but was I found the translations from American to UK measurements a pain and also found it hard to find lots of products....it's free (amazingly for such a complete site) so I carried on.  Until I stumbled across Weight Loss Resources which is very similar but all UK based (there is an American version too) so everything listed is from familiar supermarkets and brands which makes life much easier.

I'm currently on the free three day  trial and am finding it to be very good indeed.  I'm thinking of signing up for the three months at about £8 a month.  Using the tracking sites I've gone from 78kg to 75kg in three weeks which is pretty damn good!  It can get a bit obsessive though, but if you're into the internet (and would you be here if you weren’t?) it's great and bizarrely fun too.

[Current Mood |tempted but resisting]

As Ice Cream sesason is upon us again, I was wondering if anyone here has tried the interesting looking Skinny Cow low fat / no fat / no added sugar icecreams?

Also, does anyone use Sparkpeople?

Does anyone have any clue where I can find nutrition information for Red Robin...me and my husband are going there friday night with my brother and sister in law and I know they are known for their fries and such and I want to be prepared so I can't change my mind on what I get! :)

I have looked at Dotti's Weight Loss Zone and found a bit of information but not a whole lot...

I found this on ivillage.com...thought it was interesting...I used to have one but it went by the wayside cause I can't do it anymore due to the fact I moved...mine was being able to country dance and feel comfortable in a tank top and jeans...but I moved away from my country dancing place in Minneapolis so I kinda lost that...I need a new one...this really got me to thinking... People have used this word in connection to ED's but honestly I don't think it needs to be taken that far...we all have something that we want to look good for, feel good for or be proud of... What is your Thinspiration?

Of course you diet and exercise to feel good about your body, get healthy and
live a longer life. That's a given. However, every dieter has something they
look to that keeps them on the treadmill for 15 more minutes and helps them pass
up second helpings. Whether it's getting into skinny jeans, Suzy from The Biggest Loser, looking great at a reunion
or wanting to be more active with your kids, there is something that keeps you
going.

What's your thinspiration?
